In the fast growing 65+ population there is a need for technology that can help people continue to live independent lifestyles. ORCATECH researchers are testing technologies in Portland residences to learn what is most effective, while being unobtrusive enough to integrate easily into people's lives.
ORCATECH researchers are working on a variety of projects such as looking at how people's activity around the home can be an indicator for memory or other health changes, developing ways to assess and improve medication taking, and creating video-based exercise programs that can correct a person if they are doing a movement incorrectly. For more information on the different research projects at ORCATECH, see our research page.
The next ORCATECH Council Meeting will be held on Friday, May 23rd – we hope you can join us! Please RSVP to this address, orcatech@ohsu.edu, by May 21st for lunch and parking arrangements.
