Below is a representation of the ORCATECH research model. We believe it is important to conduct studies at each of these levels in order to understand the needs and requirements for technologies that aid seniors in living independent lives.
All of our research studies fall into at least one of the categories listed below. Frequently a study will fall into several categories or a study in one category will prompt research that falls into another category. For example, we developed a medication tracking device (techology), used the device in a medication adherence study (assessment), and are now learning how to effectively prompt people to take their medication using context aware prompting methods.
