Intel Corp. and Oregon Health & Science University have created a formidable, and potentially lucrative, health care partnership.
They are nurturing programs that will allow researchers to, through home health monitoring, collect and compile valuable data. The information could ultimately help predict the onset of dementia and impending physical ailments.
Intel has poured at least $3 million into research programs overseen by OHSU’s Oregon Center for Aging & Technology. The center, called Orcatech, has also collected some $12 million in federal grants.
