Dr. Hughes and Thomas Prohaska, PhD (senior leader) and David Marquez, PhD (pilot P.I.) recently participated in the first joint CDC Healthy Aging research Network (HAN)/Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) conference held in Mexico City in October. Topics discussed included the development of a joint curriculum in public health and aging for the Americas, the sharing of advances in evidence-based health promotion programs for older adults, and the development of joint functional/ performance-based health outcomes for older adults in the Western Hemisphere.
